Researchers investigated their lives and work profoundly, to understand all aspects of their life, and realistically documented their condition through articles and videos. Since China House’s foundation, it has conducted extensive research on Chinese people living abroad. The mission was part of the project “Support for the consolidation and expansion of Pronae”, which includes the Centre of Excellence, Brazil, through the National Fund for the Development of Education and the Brazilian Cooperation Agency, and the WFP office in Mozambique, together with the Directorate of School Nutrition and Health of the Ministry of Education and Human Development of Mozambique.Following the Belt and Road initiative, the footprint of Chinese people is now across the world: Africa, South America, Southeast Asia… Who are they really? What are they doing? What kind of life are they living? How are they integrating? Overtime, international organizations and international media have had a lot of misunderstandings towards them. The agenda of the event included a visit to Matambo Community Primary School, so that participants could see up close how the programme is being implemented. The meeting took place in the province of Tete, one of the provinces where the pilot project of the Pronae was executed. This information will serve as a subsidy for the manuals that the Mozambican government is preparing for its national programme. Brazil also shared experiences of monitoring the Brazilian school feeding programme and the inclusion of school feeding in the pluriannual government plans. The Centre of Excellence and the Brazilian National Fund for the Development of Education presented technical notes that support the need for a school feeding law that establishes the legal framework for Pronae. The retreat aimed to review the country’s School Feeding Strategy proposal along with the actors involved in the implementation of Pronae. The Centre of Excellence against Hunger went to Mozambique to participate in a retreat to harmonize the management tools of the National School Feeding Programme (Pronae).
